Samson, the leading developer of high-performance synthetic rope solutions and global market leader in commercial marine and industrial applications, is pleased to announce CLASSROOM. An online virtual education experience, CLASSROOM was developed to bring Samson’s expertise to end users across markets, with a focus on workboat, mooring and utility.
Today’s working environments include social distancing, rotating crews, and ever-changing technical innovations. Providing real-world training to keep personnel informed of best practices in using the tools of the trade is crucial to success and operational safety. High-performance ropes are no exception and Samson has developed CLASSROOM to help.
A virtual learning system, available 24 hours a day, brings Samson’s experts to learners around the world. With over 30 courses developed on pertinent topics such as rope handling, inspection, fabrication, and installation to name a few, CLASSROOM provides reliable education from rope experts and includes knowledge checks to confirm the material has been absorbed.
Additionally, Samson’s splicing certification curriculum offers remote certification for a variety of splices including 3-Strand, 8-strand, 12-strand, and double braid lines. Particularly relevant in today’s remote environment, Samson’s splicer certification program gives extra confidence that crew members have the skills for the job.
The curriculum is assembled from the most comprehensive knowledge base available in the world. Whether it be for personnel onboarding, specialized training, or refresher courses, CLASSROOM ensures consistent and comprehensive training. Courses are delivered using video presentations, comprehensive training guides, and downloadable content – and managers can see the progress of each learner and review their training and certifications with competency management capabilities.
Complementing the CLASSROOM, Samson and Samson’s strong global distribution network continue to offer customized in person and remote training. Whether via videoconference, at job sites, customer facilities, or Samson headquarters, instructor-led training programs can cover a host of topics.
For 141 years, Samson has been recognized as a worldwide leader in the development and manufacture of high-performance ropes. We brought the first high-modulus synthetic ropes to the marine industry. Today, Samson engineers continue to pioneer the use of new fiber technology and the development of innovative coatings and constructions to produce ropes with unprecedented performance characteristics.
