RP-12 NYLON

RP-12 Nylon is a round-plaited 12-strand construction of nylon, treated with our proprietary Pro-Gard marine finish. This combination provides reduced wet-strength loss, improved abrasion resistance, and high energy-absorbing properties. This firm, flexible rope provides superior handling and maximum wear. RP-12 Nylon offers excellent shock mitigation for peak dynamic loads during towing or mooring operations, and is spliceable using Samson's standard splice techniques. RP-12 Nylon has been verified by ABS according to MEG4.

Tail Design Break Force (TDBF): The minimum force that a new, wet, spliced mooring tail will break when tested according to MEG4 appendix B. Grommet Tail Design Break Force: TDBF in grommet configuration (x1.7 efficiency). Linear Density (LD): Linear density of line measured at reference load. Load Bearing Linear Density (LBLD): Linear density of load bearing member of the line, measured at reference load per CI-1500A.
